What wrong with this picture? Oh yes,.... she is standing on her tip-toes! Kennedy has decided that she prefers to walk on her tip-toes everywhere. I'm just wondering where she got this idea from. (In case you were wondering why she is wearing her ASU outfit, she got it out of her drawer and brought it to me for her to wear.) So anyways, is there anything wrong with this? Is it just a faze? I have no idea!

sometimes it's a phase, other times if it's not dealt with you have 12 year olds (my niece, and Chloe's friend) who physically can't put their feet down because it hurts so bad, because there muscles are stuck that way. Just inform your dr., and keep an eye on it. I think it is so cute when they are little though!
Keilana did this, and she still does! However, is isn't ALL the time, I never allowed her to. She has VERY strong ankles and can almost walk on the very tip of her toes barefoot! Kayden has started doing it as well but for the most part walks flat footed. Allow her to do it because it helps strengthen her ankles but remind her to put her feet flat on the floor if you see her doing it for an extended period of time. If she continues to walk on her toes her muscles and ligaments will tighten and be less flexible, probably eventually requiring surgery or physical therapy to help release and make those tight ligiments loose and flexible. So to answer your questions, is it a problem now? Probably not. Can it be? Yes, definitely.
An idea to help her keep flexible if she is persistant to walk on her toes is by stretching her foot backwards as a fun game or whenever you can find a chance. :c) Hope that helped! It's super cute though when they do it.
Hahah just means you need to get her enrolled in some ballerina classes! I did the same thing and my mom started me in classes when I was two!! You know how the story goes after that...maybe she can be an Irish Dancer like Auntie Jonna!!!
She got it from her dad.
He use to walk like that in his ASU outfit too. HA HA.
That is what I was going to say, get her in some ballet clases!
Camille... it looks like you have your hands full! Are you working at all, or staying home?
Aw, she's so cute! Like others have said, I would just keep an eye on it, because you never know! Love her ASU outfit!
She is going to be a dancer... that's my rediction. She is just getting an early start. And I love that she is already picking what she wants to ware. So cute!
It is usually a phase, when she wears shoes she should
be walking on her heels...
She could start ballet, now that swimming lessons are over. She is developing her muscles and walking heel first is a harder habit to break.
Like sucking thumbs, it all passes for most. She will have a dainty walk if she does toe first.
Aloha
My daughter who is now 9 is having surgery for this exact thing tomorrow I was told she would grow out of it for years until I took her to see a specialist and it turns out that it is a form off cerebral palsy. Get your daughter checked. We thought it was cite and put her in ballet but her balance is greatly affected by this the older she gets!
