Jake has been talking for weeks about how he wanted to buy an ice cream maker. So today I went to Target and got one and we made Grandpa Jack's strawberry ice cream recipe. Jake hadn't had it in over 12 years so he was really excited!
Here he is putting it all together and making sure all the ingredients were just right.
Kennedy couldn't wait for the ice cream to come; she had to eat the strawberries to hold her over.
All done! Jake of course licking the mixer. Can you at least get a spoon?
Soooooo good! Not very healthy but sooooooo good! I would say our first time we get an A+! Here is the recipe for those who are interested:
Mix 1 lb of strawberries, 1 quart of sugar, and 2 quarts of half & half in the blender. Churn in the ice cream maker and 40 minutes later it's ready!!!

Wow, I remember all the great parties we had and there weren't real parties without the strawberry ice cream. I can still see the ice cream maker sitting in the garage and taking what felt like forever. It never felt like it only took forty minutes to make. Way to keep a great memory alive!
